German Village Snowy Engagement:
Sarah + Joshua

Sarah and Joshua originally planned their wedding reception to take place in German Village. When their wedding location changed, we decided it would make sense to have their engagement session in their neighborhood instead. The couple planned for a winter session and really hoped for snow. We even rescheduled our first date, hoping to encounter snow the following week. As luck would have it, we had the perfect snowy winter day exactly one week later. We started at Schiller Park that Friday morning in early February, and it was like a winter wonderland! The snow stuck to Sarah’s hair and Joshua’s beard, and I was living for it. We crossed the street and got some more shots in the German Village neighborhood as well. I could have kept shooting all morning! Can’t wait to see these again for their wedding this Halloween!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
