2022 Year in Review! | Columbus Ohio Wedding Photographer

2022! My busiest year ever! After 2 rather tumultuous and uncertain years, 2022 was the year where everything happened. The last Covid reschedules finally happened – many of these rescheduled several times since 2020! And folks who put off planning finally booked their weddings. As a result, I had the most weddings booked I’ve had in one year for my entire 12 year photography career! It was action-packed and it was beautiful.

A look at the numbers: 41 full-day weddings, 8 micro weddings/elopements, 101 portrait sessions, 23 engagement sessions, 8 surprise proposals, 5 mitzvahs and 10 corporate shoots. I also did one of my first true boudoir sessions (check it out)!

I also compiled some of my favorite non-traditional Columbus wedding venues!

I also had the opportunity to travel this year! I started off the year with a trip to San Francisco, California, where I photographed two engagement sessions for Paige + Meg and Katya + Ilya. And later in the year, I travel to Georgia for Kris + Baylee’s wedding, and Wisconsin for Katya + Ilya’s wedding. I absolutely love traveling and these experiences were unforgettable! In between, I was all over Ohio, in particular I spent a bunch of time shooting in Cincinnati and Cleveland!

Another highlight of the year was the recognition – I had 6 weddings published in 3 magazines, one of them a national publication! I received “Best of” awards from The Knot and Wedding Wire, and at the end of the year, Columbus Dispatch awarded me as a CBUS Top Pick 2022 in the Photographer category!

This year, with Covid vaccines and boosters readily available, celebrations have felt as close to “normal” as they’ve ever been. And I plan to get boosted until the end of time! Doing my best to ensure safe experiences is of upmost importance to me.

It’s been a wild ride and I look forward to what 2023 has in store!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
