2020 has been a lot of things, so many unexpected changes and disappointments. But when it also means I get to meet new couples like Charlotte + Dan, I call that a win! They reached out to me just about a month before their micro wedding. Due to covid, their wedding saw some big changes: they cut their guest list, cut their reception, and needed a new photographer. But their venue and date stayed on, at least for the ceremony portion, and they called me in to be their photographer!
It was a beautiful day in mid-September, when I headed up to Landoll’s Mohican Castle, a little over an hour north of Columbus. I had heard of this venue for years, but this was my first wedding here! It is a dreamy, picturesque venue that couldn’t be more perfect for a wedding! Once dressed, Charlotte and Dan opted to see each other before the ceremony for a handful of portraits for just the two of them.
With a handful of their closest family watching in-person, and many more watching online, Charlotte and Dan were married! Afterwards, we celebrated with a cake cutting and toasts. And then we continued with more portraits before I released them to a celebratory dinner. But as I walked to my car, I saw some beautiful golden hour light peaking through, and I couldn’t resist returning to Charlotte and Dan, and request just a few more minutes of portraits with them. Luckily, they were up for it! And it was totally worth it.
Congratulations to Charlotte and Dan, I couldn’t be more grateful we crossed paths for your big day!
