Columbus Ohio Micro Wedding: Meghan + Jordan

On a quiet Sunday morning, I got a call from Meghan + Jordan, who were planning their backyard micro wedding in less than 2 weeks, had heard of me through their friends Kate + Ben, and do I happen to be available? As luck, or circumstances of covid-19 would have it, my original full day wedding booked for August 8 also moved to 2021, so yes, I was open!

Like so many 2020 couples, their original wedding plans in Chicago were uprooted and moved to 2021. But having just relocated to Columbus from Texas, they decided rather last minute, to go ahead and get married on their original date, in Jordan’s parents’ backyard in Blacklick! That Saturday evening, I joined them and a handful of their closest family and friends, as they were married at sunset by Meghan’s brother.

Afterwards, we went for a little walk for “just married” portraits and chased the golden hour light, ending with a champagne toast. These times are strange for sure, but unique and exciting as well, and I am so thankful to meet new couples and to be a part of these little pockets of happiness.

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
