Columbus Ohio Jewish Wedding at the Grand Event Center: Abby + Brad

What a day!! Abby + Brad’s Grand Event Center wedding was one exciting celebration – a long day packed full of fun people, fun downtown locations and fun details! I’m pretty sure we were all exhausted by the end but it was totally worth it! Beth Duboe Films was my partner in crime for the day, filming every moment alongside my shots! And Jennifer of StR Events made it all happen seamlessly.

It was a hot summer day on the first Saturday of August when we met up at the new Grand Event Center as preparations were under way on both sides. It was my first time at this venue and I loved it! After both Abby and Brad were dressed, they read letters from each other before their first look outside the hotel.

We then hopped on their trolley with their wedding party and headed downtown for portraits! First stop was the Scioto Mile bridge, a perfect spot for a large group like theirs! Lighting there can be difficult mid-day, but we had a moment when the sun hid behind a cloud and we snagged that epic skyline shot! From there, we headed to Goodale Park for a more natural backdrop, on the way stopping for a couple fun mural shots for just the two of them! With Brad’s love for gaming, stopping at the 16-bit Cbus mural was a must!

Back at the venue, we continued finishing out all the portraits with wedding party and family before their ceremony. That way, they were able to enjoy the rest of the day with their guests, without being taken away from the celebration! At their venue, little details paying tribute to their love of Disney and Mario were found throughout, and they had both a band (out of Cleveland!) and DJ (their cousin!) to keep the dance floor full all night. I love seeing so many familiar faces in the crowd, too! Mazel Tov to these two wonderful people!!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!

You totally captured a couple in love! You captured their fun personalities and zest for life. They were so lucky to have found each other BUT lucky to have found you. Continued success in your future endeavors.

The photos made me smile and even tear up a little. I think you achieved your goal. They are a very lucky couple and I am glad they found each other. You did a terrific job on the photos.
