Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove Wedding: Lindy + Angie

I’ve known Lindy for years, ever since meeting her at Brittany + Justin’s wedding over 5 years ago! We’ve stayed in touch ever since, and I was so excited to hear from her when she and Angie got engaged! And I was even more thrilled when I heard that their wedding would take place at the brand new Oak Grove space at Jorgensen Farms! (one of my favorite venues and just a mile down the road from me!)

On a Sunday in early October, we met up at Oak Grove, where all their wedding festivities would take place. It was such a lovely, laid-back day. There was a threat of rain for the day but you could tell, they were just like – whatever happens, we’ll make the best of it! And we sure did.

After each bride got dressed, we had their first look outside in front of a row of trees. We continued with portraits, just the two of them, and just as we ended, it began to rain. We moved inside for group portraits – the venue has a great, bright space for them, which is awesome – and at that point it was determined that their ceremony would be moved inside their reception space, the greenhouse.

The structure is open-air on the sides and has a clear roof, so it lets in so much natural light! It doesn’t feel like an indoor space at all. So as Lindy and Angie were married by Lindy’s sister in the greenhouse, we heard the pitter-pat of the rain drops hitting the roof and honestly, though it wasn’t their original plan, I couldn’t envision it any other way. It was truly wonderful and romantic and all the things you could want in a wedding ceremony. And a bag piper began and ended the ceremony!

Afterwards, as the rain continued, guests gathered for dinner, toasts and dancing – and I convinced the couple to head outside for a couple of shots in the rain! My time with them ended right after toasts, and they invited me to join them as a guest for dinner and some dancing too. What a wonderful day in every way. Congratulations ladies!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
