Bruce + Roger: Columbus Ohio Same-Sex Wedding at Wells Barn at Franklin Park Conservatory

Bruce + Roger picked a beautiful Sunday in July for their summer wedding at Franklin Park Conservatory – but not just any Sunday! It was July 10, the date of their 23rd anniversary together. And as they are avid gardeners and tree enthusiasts, they chose a perfect backdrop for their big day – Franklin Park Conservatory, where Bruce also happens to be Executive Director.

As this was a daytime / brunch wedding, we began our day bright and early, at the Le Meridien Joseph hotel in the Short North, at 7am! The neighborhood sure was quiet on a Sunday morning! After Bruce and Roger helped each other get dressed, we took some portraits with just the two of them in the neighboring streets.

From there, we headed to their wedding venue, the new Wells Barn at Franklin Park Conservatory, for additional portraits before guests arrived. Bruce and Roger opted for a cocktail hour before their ceremony, so they could greet their family and friends as they arrived. In the same space, guests gathered around to watch Bruce and Roger as they were wed in an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Community Gardens.

Inside the barn, a yummy brunch meal was served, followed by cake cutting and lots of dancing! Congratulations to Bruce and Roger!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!

    Hi Amy!

How am I just discovering this blog post … ha ha!

I was talking with a couple about Bruce and Roger’s wedding (and timeline) and I tried to find some photos … and found your blog. For some reason, I can’t see the pictures.

Let me know if I’m doing something wrong – would love to see these AND share them with my couple.

Hope all is well with you! Jodi from Night Music DJ
