From Westgate to the Arena District to the Scioto Mile to Veteran’s Memorial, and every point in between – this downtown wedding covered so much ground and was packed from beginning to end! It was a sunny and hot day, a fitting way to kick off the summer.
And this was the first wedding at National Veterans Memorial and Museum, and in their new building!
Here’s what I wrote on Instagram the next morning: “Yesterday felt brand new. It was sun, and color, and bright smiles. Rooftop vibes for days and some of the best people around. It felt like we were celebrating getting to celebrate, dancing on air!” Yep, all those things.
So, yes, my day began at Meredith and Nick’s Westgate home, where Nick was getting ready with his guys. We took some fun shots of them having a drink before joining Meredith at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Columbus. Once she was dressed, I staged their first look, just the two of them, in a nearby alley, one of my favorite hidden gems I hadn’t been to in a couple years!
From there we joined the wedding party for portraits down the road at the Scioto Mile, before heading to the venue for the rest of the day’s events. Again, this was Vets Memorial’s first wedding, and I was so honored to be a part of it! The space there was just so cool – colorful window panes, the view of downtown, and of course, the rooftop! Their ceremony took place right on that rooftop, the sky clearing and the sun coming out just in time.
Their celebration continued into the night, with formal dances, toasts, cake cutting, and lots and lots of dancing! And also golden hour and twilight shots – yes, the couple agreed to leave the party 2 different times! Thank you, Meredith + Nick, for having me capture this joyous day! It feels so good to be out there capturing celebrations again.
Beautiful Wedding! Good Luck you two!
