Franklin Park Conservatory LGBTQ Elopement Wedding: Mere + Mel

Mel + Mere eloped on a Friday afternoon in May, and they did it their way! Married by their friend Duck, in the Palm House at Franklin Park Conservatory, there were just 5 of us total, and many leafy witnesses, in the room as the two of them exchanged rings and vows. (Speaking of vows, some of the most hilarious I’ve heard, and not appropriate for grandma!)

It was also a SUPER hot day, that came at us quick, especially in that greenhouse! Within minutes of their marriage being sealed with a kiss, we escaped to the outdoors for some relief and more portraits in the gardens.

From there, we headed to Scioto Mile and Franklinton for more portraits, where we popped champagne on the Main Street Bridge, went exploring, and ended with a beer on the rooftop at BrewDog Franklinton. This was quite fitting, because in just a few weeks, we’ll be celebrating with their family and friends at their reception at BrewDog in Canal Winchester!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
