Chillicothe Ohio LGBTQ+ Wedding at the Postmark: Kala + Colleen

My first time in Chillicothe and my first time at the Postmark did not disappoint! Kala (they/them) + Colleen (she/her) returned to Colleen’s hometown for their late June wedding. And yes, I had just had a baby unexpectedly early just 2 weeks prior. But I felt well enough to be there, brought help (thanks Kim!) and took plenty of breaks. Everything came together perfectly, I felt great and very supported, and I was so grateful I could be there!

And Chillicothe, what a gem! We began our day getting ready at their venue, the Postmark. After their first look and exchange of private vows on the stairwell, we headed down the street to Yoctangee Park with their wedding party for portraits. We returned to the venue for their wedding ceremony, where the couple walked down the aisle together and were married by their friend Julie (who I have worked with at weddings before!).

This was followed by their cocktail hour, first dances, toasts, cake cutting, and a venue tradition of the signing of the vault. Dancing continued and we ended our time together with a flower pedal toss outside with their wedding party, and golden hour photos! Kala and Colleen are simply the best. Congratulations!!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
