Strongwater Columbus LGBTQ+ Wedding: Nana + Meghan

It the first Saturday in September, also Labor Day weekend, when Nana + Meghan got married at Strongwater Food & Spirits! One of my favorite venues in Columbus for so many reasons. The space, the neighborhood, the colorful murals just a few steps away… so much inspiration at every turn! We had on-and-off light rain all day, and yet this did not dampen anyone’s spirits. Nana and Meghan moved the ceremony inside but still did lots of photos outside, with and without umbrellas! Rainy photos are super cute & romantic… I’m never mad about it.

We began our day at Strongwater, as each bride got dressed. No surprises here, we skipped a first look and went straight into portraits. First we walked around the block in Franklinton, and then we hopped in a car for a quick trip to the Topiary Garden and rainbow mural! The garden was the perfect spot for a rainy day, plus we dipped inside the Main Library to dry off and got a few shots in the stacks! And on the way back to the venue, we stopped at the rainbow mural because of course we did!

Back at Strongwater, these two were married in their main event space – beautiful in its own right! And then it was flipped for the reception. The brides and their guests celebrated with dinner and toasts because opening up the dance floor for the night. And of course we had dip outside for some quick twilight shots! Congratulations to Nana + Meghan!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
