Columbus Ohio Queer Jewish Wedding at Nationwide Hotel: Ray + Sam

Ray + Sam were a reminder of how wholesome and true queer love is. On a Sunday in late May, they were married at Nationwide Hotel in Powell, in a ceremony and reception that was all outdoors! Smiles, laughs and tears all day and I couldn’t get enough!

I began my day with Ray and Sam getting ready together, in a hotel room at their venue. It doesn’t happen often, but when couples get ready together it is something truly special. From there, we met up with their wedding party for some group photos, before traveling to High Banks for portraits of just the two of them! It was super sweet to escape the venue for some time to themselves, in nature.

We returned to Nationwide for their wedding events to begin! Their ceremony was outdoors in a courtyard, and their reception followed, also outdoors! On a patio overlooking a pond, Ray and Sam celebrated with their friends and family with a hora, dinner, toasts and blessings, cake cutting and a first dance. We ended our time together with golden hour shots AND an epic sunset, before they started up the firepit for smores! What an amazing day!!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
