I’ve gotten to know my client Marie so well since we first connected last year – first, she booked me for a couples session last fall (that turned into a surprise proposal!), then she booked me for her wedding and we shot her and Keenan’s engagement session earlier this spring. Then Marie came to me with another project: a boudoir session! Knowing I hadn’t had a lot of experience with these, she still trusted me to be the one to capture these portraits for her. And I couldn’t have been more honored.
We booked the newest space at Be Changed Studios and shot our session on a Friday afternoon in mid-May. Prior to the session, Marie told me: “I just want to look and feel like myself and I want to celebrate my body. She does a lot of great things for me.” I carried that sentiment throughout our time together. I was also hugely inspired by her confidence and joy. She did this session for no one but herself.
Future boudoir sessions shot by me will follow this philosophy of body positivity, empowerment, and celebration of self. Absolutely no body shaming, no diet culture, no photoshopping any part of you.
