Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove Winter Wedding: Lia + Jeffrey

Lia + Jeffrey were my first covid micro wedding back in May 2020. After nearly 2 years of reschedules, we FINALLY got to celebrate last month! It was a sunny February day, the last Sunday of the month, that actually felt a bit like May! And I loved seeing so many familiar faces, there were 2 other past couples of mine in attendance!

We began their Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove wedding right at the venue! Once both sides were dressed, we staged their first look just outside the greenhouse structure. We continued with wedding party and family portraits. It was a windy day which posed some challenges, but also made for some really fun photos at just the right moment! I love shooting on a windy day, it’s just about being quick and a little patient too. I also loved Lia’s veil, it was a unique design I hadn’t seen before and I love how the wind caught it in various shots.

At the ceremony in the greenhouse, it felt like everything was a long time coming. They recited two sets of vows – repeating the vows they wrote from their first wedding, and then a new set for their second wedding nearly 2 years later. It was cute, and funny at times, and something you’d never think you’d see before the pandemic changed so much for us. And yet there are these unique stories that serve as silver linings to it all. Not too many people can say they had two weddings!

The celebration continued with sunset photos, first dances, toasts, cake cutting, a signature drink with J Pops popsicles, and a sparkler exit at night! It’s been quite a journey for these two, which began at their surprise proposal back in December 2017! It was an honor to see it through to this day, and absolutely worth the wait. Congratulations again, to Lia + Jeffrey!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
