Hocking Hills LGBTQ Wedding: Alex + Colleen

Alex + Colleen had laid back mid-November wedding in Hocking Hills, just as it should be! They rented a cabin on a hilltop and invited their closest family and friends to join them for a weekend to celebrate. Everyone – including the couple and all their guests – came in from out of town, so it had that destination wedding vibe too!

The two of them got ready together, and went right into their ceremony just outside the cabin. before the ceremony. Short and sweet, they were married by a friend. For portraits afterwards, we stayed on the property, but found some magic in the nearby pine woods and fall color late in the season! And I love that they threw on their long coats, both weather appropriate and very cute.  We continued with more portraits around the property and a first married drink!

Then they rejoined their guests around the fire and changed clothes into something more comfortable. The celebration continued with a barbeque dinner, more time at the firepit, and a night full of karaoke! A laid-back celebration indeed, but they still knew how to party! Congratulations to Alex and Colleen!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
