Vue Columbus LGBTQ Wedding: Adam + Antonio

Adam + Antonio have endured a lot in the last year – postponing their reception, graduating from school, starting new jobs, moving across the country, being long distance (all the life events at once, no big deal!)… that their October 2021 wedding celebration felt like we were celebrating SO much. Not just their wedding, but all their accomplishments, and all the things they mean to their family and friends. And they have some wonderful loved ones indeed- I count many of their friends as clients, too!

Because of all of these factors, I didn’t actually get a chance to meet the grooms until their wedding day. But as soon as I stepped into their hotel room at the Westin, it felt like I had already known them all along. Once each side was dressed, I staged their first look on the side of the building. And then we headed out for portraits!

It was a bit of a rainy day, nothing too bad but just enough to warrant umbrellas. And my umbrellas come with me everywhere! We stopped at Scioto Mile for skyline shots and McFerson Commons Park for all the fall color, before ending our time at their wedding venue, Vue Columbus. We finished up all their portraits, including family shots, before events began.

Next was their ceremony, followed by cocktail hour, and then it was onto the reception! They celebrated with dinner, toasts, cake cutting and formal dances. And then it was time to dance the night away! They had an incredibly energy-filled dance floor, there was always something fun to capture. We ended our time with some night shots in a nearby alley in the misty rain. It was magic! Congratulations to Adam and Antonio!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
