Gambier Ohio LGBTQ Engagement: Ashley + Erin

One month from today, Ashley + Erin are getting married! And last month we celebrated this time with a golden hour summer engagement. I headed up to Gambier on a Thursday evening in mid-August to meet them at the Brown Family Environmental Center at Kenyon College. Though I’ve shot at Kenyon before, I never knew this place existed! The couple used to come here a lot with their dogs when they lived in Gambier. There’s so much to work with here, from a flower garden, to a big open field full of tall grass and wildflowers, to a pine forest at the top of a large hill. Really that hill felt like a mini mountain! We were pretty beat when we reached the top, but I don’t think you can tell in the photos! We ended our session getting the end of that amazing golden hour light. Thanks to Ashley and Erin for showing me around a new location, and I can’t wait to see them again at their wedding in Fredericktown, exactly one month from today!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
