Columbus Ohio Jewish Wedding: Nofar + Gilad

I got the call early that week for a wedding… we were chatting on Monday, and that Thursday, I joined Nofar + Gilad at their small weekday wedding! Having been engaged since before the pandemic, their plans for an overseas wedding had been on hold for so long, that they finally decided to go ahead and get married here in Columbus. And they planned the whole thing in just a few weeks!

It was the last Thursday in May, and I met the couple at Hotel LeVeque in downtown Columbus. I staged their first look right outside the revolving front doors. They then hopped in their vintage Corvette and we took a drive down the road to the Main Street Bridge at the Scioto Mile, before heading to Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley for additional portraits. Of course, we had to get a few portraits with that fabulous car! Though we’d later have some more friends & family in attendance, it certainly felt like an elopement as we traveled around for portraits with just the two of them.

The wedding festivities continued at Ahavas Sholom in Bexley, with a bedeken, ketubah signing and chuppah ceremony with about 20 people in attendance. They celebrated with toasts, a meal and more portraits after. I was so honored to be a part of Nofar + Gilad’s special day. Mazel Tov!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
