Columbus Ohio Orthodox Jewish Wedding at Torat Emet: Sandy + Jon

A true pandemic wedding in every sense of the word: Sandy + Jon had to make changes to the way their late-October big day looked, and the way they originally envisioned it, but they rolled with it and were determined to get married and celebrate, in the safest way possible! There were masks under the chuppah – yes, including for the bride and groom – and there was no dancing (rules from the synagogue!). But there were streamers! And truly, there was still all the love and excitement you could imagine. After all, Sandy and Jon did book me during the pandemic, during the shutdown in fact – they entered into wedding planning knowing their plans could change. And in a weird way, that’s a nicer scenario than a lot of couples that found themselves blindsided by it all. Sandy and Jon had the most positive outlook on everything, but never tried to cut corners when it came to the safety of all present. Definitely one of the most pandemic-friendly weddings I’ve seen so far.

And from their first look against the beautiful Jerusalem stone at Torat Emet, to portraits with their wedding party at Jeffrey Mansion (in all of its peak fall glory!), to Sandy’s super unique dress (and mask and bouquet to match!), their Orthodox Jewish wedding day with their 50 guests was as beautiful as it was meaningful.

Mazel Tov to Sandy and Jon!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
