Megan + Ashkan had not just one wedding ceremony on their big day, but two! They incorporated both their backgrounds with a western ceremony in the early afternoon at Grange Insurance Audubon Center, and an evening Iranian ceremony at Revery Rooftop (formerly Juniper) at North 4th Corridor! From the moment they told me about their plans, I was literally counting down the days. I’ve known these two for a while, since shooting Megan’s sister Jill’s wedding a few years back. Ashkan called me up to photograph their surprise proposal, then we shot their engagement session, and now we’re finally here at their wedding day!
Their western ceremony was small, just a handful of immediate family gathered under a majestic tree. Afterwards we shot some portraits around the park, before heading to Juniper. Megan and Ash took some times to themselves at this point (which I loved!) while I tackled all the amazing details in the space and all their guests trickled in. We shot a few more portraits there before their Iranian ceremony began against the backdrop of the Columbus skyline. You couldn’t imagine a more picturesque location!
Afterwards, their family and friends celebrated with a vegan dinner, toasts, first dances, cake cutting and dancing on the rooftop all night! And of course, we took advantage of the amazing golden hour light that pours into that space! I also loved seeing so many of my past wedding clients there! Thank you, Megan and Ash, for inviting me to be part of your day, and being an absolute joy to work with every step of the way.
