Baby Lilianna was 2 months old when her parents Jenny and Brandon invited me to their Gahanna home to capture their first portraits together as a family. It was a lovely Friday morning in mid-September, and their home was bright, full of neutral-colored walls and plenty of windows – a photographer’s dream! Because she was just out of the newborn stage, Lilianna was incredibly expressive and gave us plenty of smiles, which was such a joy to catch. Their two pups even jumped into a couple shots! She wasn’t so happy when we dipped outside for a moment – it was a bit too bright for her – but the result was pretty funny anyways. This session was proof that you don’t need to do a traditional newborn session in the small window of time after baby first arrives, but waiting a little bit after everyone’s settled can produce great results too.
