Victoria + Evan: Columbus Zoo Spring Wedding

Victoria + Evan had the most perfect day for their Columbus Zoo wedding! It was Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, weather was perfect and the animals were amazing! Giraffes and more were on full display at the Heart of Africa exhibit.

My assistant Jess and I started in different locations – she met up with the guys at Evan’s parents’ home in Powell, and I began my day with the girls at the Hilton Polaris. Each side got ready and then we came together at the Powell home for their First Look. Evan’s home was the perfect backdrop and I’m so glad these two opted to see each other before the wedding! We had so much extra time for fun pictures.

Immediately following the First Look, Victoria and Evan jumped into their party bus with their wedding party and headed to the zoo. We first stopped over at the Watersedge area and got some pictures against the waterfront and at the carousel, before heading over to the Heart of Africa event center.

Their gorgeous ceremony followed, beautifully decorated with drapery and chandeliers, paired with the rustic backdrop of giraffes, ostriches, zebras and more wandering behind them against the setting sun. Afterwards, Victoria + Evan got up close and personal with a baby snow leopard, a baby kangeroo and a penguin! These animals later joined guests at cocktail hour.

The party lasted into the evening, with toasts, dinner, first dances, smores and a rocking dancing floor! Also, their cake was hands-down the most magnificent work of art I’ve ever seen! I absolutely loved working with these two and it was an honor capturing their big day!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!

Beautiful wedding and photographs! Do you happen to know who did her hair? I love it.

    Thank you!
