Jeremy + Dave: Columbus Ohio Same-Sex Wedding at Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center

On a rainy Saturday afternoon in mid-September, Jeremy and Dave began their wedding day together, getting ready for their big day at Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center (formally North Pointe Conference Center). Luckily, the weather cleared up just in time for outdoor portraits. We spent the first part of our budgeted portrait time with just the two of them, but before long, it was time for a first look their 3-year-old daughter Elizabeth! She was dressed to the nines and one could argue she stole the show! The first look with Elizabeth and her daddies was truly one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen! All three were all smiles, as you’ll see in the shots below.

The rest of their wedding day was laid back and full of love from friends and family. Guests joined the couple inside for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. The ceremony followed in the ballroom, where Elizabeth was flower girl and made a few cameos throughout the service. The reception followed, with the most elaborate, beautiful and delicious cookie table I’ve ever seen! And believe it or not, most of the treats – include the rainbow macaron cookie tower – were made by Dave himself! Incredible. The party continued into the evening with lots of great moves from adults and kiddos alike.

When Jeremy + Dave first started planning their wedding a year ago, they didn’t know if their marriage would be legal when the day arrived in September. With the US Supreme Court ruling in June, their dream of many years became a reality. It was a beautiful day, and an honor to capture! Congratulations to Jeremy, Dave and Elizabeth!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
