Kelsey + Brett: Akron Ohio Summer Wedding at Conrad Botzum Farmstead

I looked forward to Kelsey + Brett’s summer wedding in Akron for much of the year! I love traveling all over Ohio to photograph weddings and experience new and unique locations. Their celebration at Conrad Botzum Farmstead in Cuyahoga Valley National Park was laid-back against a beautiful backdrop. Plus, I was looking forward to seeing so many familiar faces, since I shot her sister’s Krista’s wedding last February!

We started our day getting ready at Kelsey’s friends house in nearby Hudson. I captured Kelsey’s various details and as her bridesmaids helped her get dressed. From there, Kelsey and her bridesmaids boarded a train on the Cuyahoga Vallery Scenic Railroad that happened to drive right through her wedding venue! The train stopped and dropped off the girls at Conrad Botzum Farmstead, where we continued with portraits on her side. After Kelsey and her girls retreated, Brett and his guys arrived and we did portraits on his side as well.

The ceremony followed out on the grounds beside the barn, overlooking a beautiful backdrop of trees and overgrown greenery as the sun set in the distance. After the ceremony, the three of us explored the grounds for additional portraits against dramatic golden hour light, before returning to the guests to continue the celebration in the barn! After dinner, toasts, a trivia game, and first dances, the guests danced the night away to tunes played by ShizDiz Entertainment. Kelsey and Brett, thank you for inviting me up to Akron to capture your big day!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
