Melissa + Anthony: Columbus Ohio Fall Wedding at St. Brigid of Kildare Church + Grange Insurance Audubon Center

On a chilly mid-October day in Columbus, I was privileged to join Melissa and Anthony to capture their fabulous wedding day! Though it was a bit cooler than usual, and the clouds threatened of rain, the day stayed dry during the parts of the day that mattered most, and everything went perfectly. Plus, the colors were at their peak, we took advantage of some of the most beautiful bright orange colors – which was especially perfect as it was one of their wedding colors! Melissa and Anthony were as adorable as can be, and had so much fun on their big day. We couldn’t have planned it more perfectly!

I started the day at Melissa’s parents’ home in Dublin, where she and her girls got ready and shared plenty of laughs. We then to traveled to their church – St. Brigid of Kildare, also in Dublin – where Melissa got dressed, and she and Anthony exchanged letters to each other from different rooms. They didn’t see each other before the walk down the aisle! Following their beautiful Catholic ceremony, they exited the church greeted by a sea of bubbles.

Following a handful of portraits at the church, we headed down to the Grange Audubon Center in downtown Columbus for portraits with their wedding party. I always look forward to shooting weddings at the Audubon Center! Already one of my all-time favorite locations in Columbus to shoot, it was there we were greeted by the most amazing fall colors! I believe these might have been the most amazing fall colors I’ve ever photographed, and it was just perfect that it matched their wedding colors. It was a bit chilly and there were a few light sprinkles of rain, but Melissa and Anthony and their wedding party toughed through for some fun portraits! Also, I should note the awesome flowers by Eva at EcoFlora!

Their reception continued indoors at the colorful and fun space at the Audubon Center, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the downtown skyline. By the time Melissa and Anthony were announced, it began to rain – perfect timing! Their guests rocked the night away to live music performed by The Lovebenders. I still can’t stop thinking about their wedding day, it was such a blast! Thank you to Melissa and Anthony for having me be a part of it!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
