Caitlin + Josh: Cleveland Ohio Fall Wedding at Windows on the River

What a joy it was to shoot Caitlin and Josh’s fall wedding in Cleveland at Windows on the River! It was also so much fun to have local wedding photographer Nick Edmundson join me for the day. We had a beautiful fall day in mid-October, with plenty of time to travel around downtown for portraits! Returning to my hometown for weddings is always such a great experience, and especially seeing all the excitement booming in the heart of the city.

We started our day at the Marriott Key Center in downtown Cleveland. I hung out with the girls, while Nick chilled with the guys down the hall. We staged the first look just outside the hotel. It was a chilly day and a windy spot, but Caitlin and Josh and their wedding party were such troopers! The nearby Memorial Plaza fountain provided a stunning backdrop for their first set of pictures with their wedding party. We then jumped in their party bus and headed to Ohio City, the home of West Side Market, Great Lakes Brewing Co., and lots of cute buildings, street cafes and artistic murals. We found some trees with fantastic fall colors too! We had so much time for portraits, it was truly a leisurely time exploring the neighborhood looking for cute little spots. Then we hopped back into the bus and headed to the Flats, where we found a couple of really neat bridges and then rested our feet with drinks at Shooters.

At our final destination, Windows on the River, a reception venue located in an old powerhouse, the ceremony took place in a gorgeous brick setting with tall windows overlooking downtown Cleveland. Because there’s no such thing as too many pictures, Caitlin and Josh totally agreed to more pictures with the setting sun during cocktail hour. The reception followed with lots of love and lots of dancing!

Caitlin and Josh, it was such a privilege to spend your big day with you! Thank you for inviting me to Cleveland to capture it all!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
