Jennifer + Eric: Columbus Ohio Wedding at St. Joseph’s Cathedral + The Vault

Jennifer + Eric’s downtown wedding in late September was a picture-perfect beautiful day, as the colors were just beginning to change against a clear blue sky! Jennifer was with me for the day, so we were able to split up and capture every moment of their wedding day. Jennifer started at St. Joseph’s Cathedral with the guys, while I started with the girls at the Residence Inn. St. Joseph’s Cathedral is one of the most beautiful churches in Columbus and I was so honored to finally shoot my first wedding there! Their sanctuary provided the most grand backdrop for their wedding ceremony. Shortly after, Jennifer and Eric were greeted by bubbles as they stepped out into the street and into their limo.

We did the bulk of their pictures between the ceremony and reception, starting in the downtown alleys by their church, then traveling by limo to make an unplanned alcohol stop at Kroger – where I noticed a bunch of bright yellow trees and invited Jennifer and Eric to have some alone time for couples portraits while the groomsmen made their purchases. Then we headed to the area around their reception venue, the Vault, and took additional portraits in Pearl Alley.

Their reception at the Vault was so much fun! Eric in particular was the life of the party, making an impromptu speech recognizing just about every guest in the room, and then completing rocking his mother/son dance – one of the best I’ve ever seen! Everyone had an amazing time. Thank you, Jennifer and Eric, for inviting to capture your wedding day! It was such a pleasure working with you!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
