Mallory + Clay: Columbus Ohio Winter Wedding Photographer

What a beautiful March day for Mallory and Clay’s wedding, my first wedding of 2013! Given their incredibly sweet engagement session last fall, it was no surprise that their wedding day was absolutely full of love and laughter.

My assistant Jennifer and I started at Sharon Mennonite Church in Plain City, OH. It is such a lovely church with the most gorgeous wood ceiling in their sanctuary, and I was thrilled to see my engagement images lining the aisle!

Mallory and Clay, with the coordination help of Jennifer at The Finer Things Event Planning, elected to have a First Look before the ceremony. This allowed them to truly soak in the moment of seeing each other for the first time, and it was beautiful; Chris of Blue Skies HD Video was on hand as well to capture all the emotion! Doing the first look ahead of time also allowed us to get some family portraits out of the way. Even so, there were plenty of tears when Clay saw Mallory walk down the aisle during the ceremony. So much love between these two! During a particularly special moment at the ceremony, Mallory and Clay stood together and prayed silently for several minutes. It was incredibly moving. After the ceremony, their 250 guests cheered the newlyweds outside and released balloons in their honor, before we headed to the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus for portraits with their wedding party.

The festivities continued at the reception at Grand Valley Dale Ballroom in Columbus. This historic venue is so gorgeous and classic, and everyone had a blast. Having Jennifer with me allowed us to capture some unique perspectives of special moments throughout the day. Congratulations to Mallory and Clay, truly one of the sweetest couples I’ve had the privilege to photograph!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
