Mel + Andy – Columbus Ohio Engagement Session

After our original date in September was postponed due to weather, Mel and Andy and I finally got together a couple of Sundays ago for their engagement session in Columbus. Mel and Andy’s story is so sweet – they met for the first time years ago, and felt the spark right away. It wasn’t until years later, when they met again when they attended the same church, that they knew instantly that they were meant to be together. When they became engaged over the summer, they wasted no time in planning their December wedding! Luckily, October might be the most beautiful of all months for outdoor portraits, and we got great weather to cooperate! We started at the very place Andy proposed – Inniswoods Gardens Metro Park, which was still full of bright fall colors. Afterwards, we headed downtown to the German Village, where we found some interesting historic brick walls and more fall colors. Andy and Mel were so fun to shoot, and had trouble staying serious for any significant amount of time; it’s easy to see by how much laughing was captured in these images!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
