New Contagion | Columbus, OH Portraits

Last Sunday, I joined the guys of local band New Contagion for a photo shoot in downtown Columbus to support the release of their upcoming EP. We started by exploring the outskirts of downtown, discovering an interesting boarded up building with urban art. Then we moved on to North Bank Park, where we climbed up on the train tracks – and took some pictures below the bridge, too! Finally, we explored the German Village, and got lunch at the Old Mohawk – which a certain mohawk-loving guitarist particularly appreciated. We had a lot of fun together; the guys are real jokesters despite their rough exteriors. I can’t wait to check out their next show!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
