Remember when Paige + Meg brought me out to San Francisco for their engagement session? We’ve had a blast working together and I’ve been eagerly looking forward to their wedding ever since! At Strongwater Food & Spirits on the first Sunday of November, we had a sunny, windy and beautiful fall wedding day full of love and meaning. Their queer Jewish wedding was one of the most unique ceremony setups I’ve seen, and every moment and detail was planned with intention.
We began our day getting ready at Hotel Leveque. After each bride was dressed we headed towards the venue. But instead of taking a car, we actually got there by foot, taking a walk down Scioto Mile most of the way. It was sunny and windy and we found hints of fall color along the way. And their pup Lottie joined us for the walk too! There is something very sweet about going for a stroll in downtown Columbus on your wedding day.
Upon our at Strongwater, we completed family portraits before the ceremony began. With their chuppah positioned in the middle of the chairs on both sides, it was certainly the one of the most unique ceremony setup I’ve ever seen. And they switched sides halfway through! Their ceremony culminated with a ketubah signing, ring exchange and a breaking of the glass, together!
Now that they were married, all there was left to do was party! Cocktail hour followed, and then dinner, first dance, hora, toasts and dancing! A super fun night and they were present for every moment – they wouldn’t even let me steal for them for some sunset photos! I love that Paige and Meg celebrated their wedding exactly as they wanted.
