What an honor it was to shoot Liz + Don’s German Village wedding last month! When they first met with me and told me of their plans, I was super excited because German Village is one of my absolute favorite parts of town to shoot, and while I’ve shot many, many portrait sessions there over the years, I’ve never had a true German Village wedding. Liz + Don were a dream to work with, both super sweet and totally trusting of me to do my thing. And you can tell they completely adore each other!
My day started with the girls getting ready at the Westin hotel downtown, with Jennifer King styling hair and Mary Moore perfecting the makeup! Their flowers, by Sunny Meadows Flower Farm arrived just before Liz got dressed, and they were breathtaking! Once Liz was dressed we hopped in the limo and headed to St. Leo’s Church in Merion Village. Liz and Don saw each other for the first time coming down the aisle, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! After the ceremony, guests joined them outside for a grand exit, and then we hopped back in the limo for more portraits! We traveled around German Village with the wedding party, first stopping by their house for a few pictures with their pup in a nearby alley, followed by visits to Frank Fetch Park and the Book Loft.
We ended at their venue, the High Line Car House, one of my favorite venues in Columbus, for their reception! You could really feel the love their family and friends have for them – in particular, the best man’s toast had me tearing up along with every guest there! Liz and Don partied the night away, with Global Sounds DJ spinning the tunes. It’s been a pleasure getting to know Liz and Don, I am so grateful to them for choosing me to capture their wedding day!
So beautiful! Looked like such a fun wedding. Do you know about how many guests they had at the reception?
