Ellen and Alec have been such a fun couple to work with since we first connected, and then their fall engagement last year! Their Columbus Zoo wedding at the Heart of Africa Event Center was an absolutely perfect day. We had a gorgeous summer day, with plenty of sunshine and all the zoo animals!
We started our day at Nationwide Hotel where each side got ready and we staged their first look. We did a handful more portraits there before heading to the Waters Edge space at the zoo for more, and then finally to Heart of Africa. The giraffes were out and roaming and photobombed plenty of portraits! This continued through their ceremony of course, and then guests got to feed giraffes during cocktail hour!
The couple had a little surprise when the zoo brought out some baby otters for them to meet immediately following the ceremony! It was ridiculously cute! Their celebration continued with dinner, toasts, cake cutting, dances, and some dreamy golden hour shots. Congratulations to Ellen and Alec!
