Last month I had the opportunity to attend a 4 day retreat in the Catskill mountains of upstate New York, called the Feminist Photo Vaycay! Part work and part play, this trip is designed to be a mid-season refresh with like-minded wedding photographers. In a world where so much of our work is done solo, absent of in-person colleagues, it’s so great to connect and share ideas with folks in-person who just get it. I learned so much from hearing about how they run their businesses, and also watching them interact with our couple at our styled shoot! This shoot took place at Scribner’s Lodge with a host of fabulous vendors and a beautiful real-life engaged couple to bring it all together. Megumi and Sydney shined in front of the camera and I loved hearing more about their story. Our shoot was interrupted by a pop-up shower halfway through, but after it passed, the golden hour that emerged was total magic. Thanks to everyone involved for a fulfilling experience!
