Lauren + Ben: Cleveland Ohio Summer Wedding at St Mary’s Church + Marriott Key Center

Lauren + Ben’s downtown summer wedding was nothing short of spectacular! And it screamed #CLEVELAND. After the amazing year Cleveland has had, it was so much fun to be back in my hometown shooting this wedding all over the heart of it all!

My assistant Carrie and I began our days separately – Carrie with the guys at the Marriott, and myself with the girls in at Lauren’s parents’ home in Mayfield Heights. Both sides came together at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for their beautiful wedding ceremony. Afterwards, we jumped in their party bus with their wedding party and traveled all over Cleveland to hit some landmarks for pictures! First we visited Edgewater Park, where we got some great skyline views and a walk on the beach. There had been some sprinkles on the way there, which cleared up upon our arrival, so the beach was pretty empty, we practically had it all to ourselves! Being landlocked in Columbus, I really appreciated our waterfront location. Then we visited another skyline overlook in Tremont before returning downtown to E 4th Street and the fountain in front of the Marriott.

Once pictures were complete, Lauren + Ben joined their guests at the Marriott Key Center for a rocking reception, featuring an amazing band and some Slovenian cultural traditions. And then I crashed for the night right at the hotel – not bad! Congratulations to this amazing couple, it was an honor to capture their wedding day! Nazdrovie!

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
