Lauren + Josh: Columbus Ohio Summer Wedding at Camp Mary Orton

Lauren + Josh had the most beautiful Columbus wedding at Camp Mary Orton! Their wedding blended the venue’s rustic feel with their own classic style, to create a perfectly laid-back summer celebration!

We started our day, getting ready at Nationwide Hotel & Conference Center just down the street. After both sides were ready, we staged Lauren and Josh’s first look on site, and then traveled to Camp Mary Orton to continue our pre-ceremony portraits with wedding party and family. It was a warm day to be sure, but we sought refuge in the shade as much as possible, and took advantage of the beautiful summer light with moderation.

Their wedding events continued indoors, with a gorgeous fireplace decorated with flowers from Flowers on Orchard Lane providing the backdrop for their ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when both Lauren and Josh, reciting their own written vows, recalled their first time meeting while in undergrad at Oberlin College. After their ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside, and Lauren and Josh took me up on my offer for more portraits in the warm evening light!

Their celebration continued into the night, with the Gravity Cats band playing the tunes and their guests rocking the dance floor! The room at Camp Mary Orton can get dark at night, but I set up my lights around the room that created a truly dynamic look, especially during the first dance! Congratulations to Lauren + Josh, capturing your big day was a true pleasure!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
