Last month I made a post honoring breastfeeding and sharing some special feeding moments I’ve captured between newborns and their new parents. Rachel (who I met at a wedding last December) reached out to me right away, wanting to honor her pumping journey with a session! She booked with me that day and we were shooting later that week at her Westerville home. Rachel didn’t plan to exclusively pump, it just worked out that way, but as she says (and the stickers on her pump affirm), “pumping is breastfeeding” and deserves its own recognition. As someone who is currently 70% pumping myself, I can attest: it is so. much. work. And as always, fed is best. Period!
I was so excited to get to capture a pumping session, but what I didn’t expect was how much of a ham 8 month old Theo would be! He loved playing with the pump and the tubes and interacting with mama as she pumped. It was truly heartwarming, inspiring, affirming, wholesome, just a delight. You go mama! Dad jumped into a few photos too. This session was an honor to capture!!
