Have I had a more smiley couple than Erin + Jay? Maybe not! Their smiles never left their faces all day at their Grand Event Center wedding on Labor Day weekend!
It was the first Sunday in September, and we began our day at the couple’s home in Worthington. Once Erin and her crew were ready, we piled onto a bus and headed to Schiller Park, where Jay and more family awaited for the First Look. The couple staged it such that, surrounded by family, Erin’s dad walked her down a path towards Jay. Kind of like a mini ceremony! Their reactions were priceless and set the tone for the rest of the day.
We continued with portraits at Schiller Park and German Village, and a quick unplanned stop at Scioto Mile, before heading to their wedding venue, Grand Event Center. They did things a little differently and had a cocktail hour in the courtyard before their ceremony! I loved that guests arrived to drinks and snacks and got to chat with others before the events began. The couple even joined for a part of cocktail hour!
Erin and Jay’s ceremony followed in the main atrium, and my assistant Steve joined us for this portion of the day to get some fun angles! Once married we went right into the reception, with a first dance, toasts, dinner, sunset photos and without wasting any time – a packed dance floor all night long! (The couple wouldn’t even leave for night shots, if that tells anything about how much fun everyone was having!)
Congratulations to Erin and Jay!
