It was just the two of them, on a Monday afternoon. Gabby and Jake, the judge and myself, gathered in a room at the courthouse as these two eloped! From there, we literally stepped out of the building and went on a walk across downtown for portraits. From the Courthouse, to the Cultural Arts Center and the Scioto Mile, to random stops along the way, and ending at the rooftop at the Renaissance Hotel Downtown, where they were spending their wedding night. At one point along the way, against a brick wall, Gabby and Jake took a moment to exchange vows they had written to each other. And at the hotel, a bottle of champagne greeted us upon our arrival! The newlyweds celebrated by popping it on out on the rooftop! It was a chilly, sunny, quiet afternoon in downtown Columbus, and it really felt like we had the whole city to ourselves. And stumbling upon a courtyard full of early spring blooms was a lovely bonus!
