I’ve been friends with Katie for years, so when she reached out with the news of her engagement, I was so happy for her! I was doubly happy when she asked me to photograph her upcoming micro wedding. She even planned her date around my availability, and for that I was so grateful.
Katie and John planned a smaller micro ceremony for this fall, and are planning a larger reception for one year later! For this year’s celebration, we began our time together that Friday afternoon in mid-October, by meeting at the Main Street Bridge at Scioto Mile for portraits. We explored the area and also visited other nearby spots special to the couple, including City Hall and the Supreme Court.
From there, we headed to Pickerington for their backyard micro ceremony, taking place at John’s parents’ home. A group of about 12 close family joined to witness their marriage. Immediately following, they celebrated with snacks, a toast and a cake cutting as day turned to night. I couldn’t leave without capping off our time together with some sunset shots! The evening continued after I left with dinner and a bonfire. Congratulations to Katie + John! Can’t wait to celebrate with you again next fall!!
