I couldn’t think a better way to kick off the 2020 season of weddings, than with Kelley Jo + Suresh’s winter celebration! Their January Indian-fusion wedding was as colorful as it was full of energy, a non-stop party from beginning to end!
The celebration began at their Sangeet the night before the wedding at the Hilton Polaris, where I joined them for a Friday night masquerade party full of music, performances and Indian street food! There was even a henna artist and once my coverage ended, I got henna for the first time! It was an excellent start to their weekend.
Their festivities continued back at the same venue bright and early the next morning, where both sides got ready and Suresh kicked things with a Baraat outside against an array of colorful smoke bombs! This led right into their ceremony, as Kelley Jo joined Suresh beneath the mandap where they participated in a number of cultural rituals, both beautiful and meaningful… and at times funny, too!
Their ceremony was followed by a lunch and then a break in the day, during which the room was transformed into a stunning starry night theme for the reception, and Kelley Jo and Suresh changed also in their evening party attire. The party continued with toasts, a first dance and cake cutting… and then I couldn’t resist taking them outside for some night shots in the snow! Congratulations to Kelley Jo and Suresh, two truly beautiful human beings that I couldn’t have been more honored to work with!
