Melissa and RJ had a gorgeous day for their Columbus Zoo wedding! It was a picture perfect sunny spring day in mid-May when my assistant Jen and I met up at Melissa’s parents’ home in Dublin, where the couple and their attendants were getting ready. The home has a beautiful patio and grounds that made for the perfect backdrop for Melissa and RJ’s first look. (Seriously, I could have done all their portraits there!) From there, everyone jumped into the party bus and headed to the Waters Edge space at the zoo for more portraits, before our final stop at the Heart of Africa exhibit, where their wedding events would take place. At their outdoor ceremony, giraffees roamed throughout their backdrop, photobombing many shots! And after, the couple had their own meet-and-greet with several baby animals. After first dances, toasts, dinner and cake cutting, I invited the couple back out on the terrace for a couple of shots at golden hour and sunset – always worth it! For the remainder of the evening, guests split their time between enjoying the lovely evening out on the deck, and getting down on the dance floor indoors. The day couldn’t have gone more perfectly! Congrats to Dr and Dr!
