Mid-October is one of my favorite wedding weekends of the whole year! Jaclyn and Daniel made it perfect with their simple and laid-back day at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center in downtown Columbus. The temps were chilly, and the precipitation outlook was all over the place, but I don’t think they would have changed a thing. They skipped getting ready pictures and ditched a first look too! Instead, Daniel helped Jaclyn get into her dress upon their arrival at the venue. The cute little library with a view of the city was the perfect spot for them to get ready together.
Portraits followed, with just the two of them, and then their families. After agonizing over the weather forecast that was difficult to call, the couple chose to move forward with their outdoor Jewish ceremony. It rained just minutes before ceremony time – which definitely caused some initial stress – but then the rain cleared just in time! Chairs were wiped dry and we were good to go. Still a bit chilly, and windy, but they did it! After a few post-ceremony portraits in the wind (some of my favorites!), another rain cloud moved in behind it!
Moving onto their reception, there were toasts, cake cutting, first dances and a hora, before the guests danced the night away as The Goody Two Shoes spun the tunes. I loved that Jaclyn and Daniel planned their wedding exactly the way they wanted to, and didn’t simply do anything for the sake of tradition. Mazel Tov!
