This Strongwater Columbus wedding with Sara + Rae was the perfect way to end a very busy September! Two brides, one of my favorite venues, gorgeous weather, great friends and family – what could be better? Also loved seeing my prior wedding clients Betsy + Clara, who referred this wedding to me!
Sara and Rae kept things simple and did everything on-site. They did some prep together, but dressed separately, and had their first look just outside their reception space. They got all their photos out of the way with wedding party and family, and their outdoor ceremony in the courtyard followed, filled with laughter, hugs and happy tears.
After a few more portraits in the courtyard, Sara and Rae agreed to go outside for one more quick shot against the golden hour light before they were announced at the reception – against a parking lot backdrop. I tell you what, you put two brides and golden hour light together, and you can make a parking lot look good!!
Their reception followed with dinner, cake, toasts and a ton of fun on the dance floor. I remember being so sick at this wedding day – I was popping DayQuil all day – and Sara and Rae couldn’t be more sweet and accommodating. They even offered to get me a cup of tea! What can I say, we don’t get sick days in the wedding world. But it was a total honor to be there and capture their wedding day memories.
