Melissa + Tracey brought me to a new spot for their fall engagement: Smith Farms in southeastern Columbus. I first met Melissa years ago, at a wedding I photographed back in 2012. It was so cool to hear from her all these years later, now that she’s engaged to Tracey! When it comes to engagement sessions, I’m always happy to provide location suggestions to my clients, but I’m thrilled when they already have a spot in mind. Whether it’s a spot that’s special to them, or a spot I’ve never been to before, I’m always up for their ideas.
In this case, Smith Farms is a spot that Melissa spends many of her work days at, and admittedly a place I never really knew existed! It seems that it’s a bit of a hidden gem, as there was no one else there while we photographed that Monday evening in late October. There was tons of variety there and we had some beautiful golden hour light throughout. It felt like we were out in the country the whole time, it was such a peaceful place. I even got to ride around on a John Deere gator! I’m looking forward to Melissa and Tracey’s wedding next March!
