Where do I even begin with Brandon + Joseph’s amazing September wedding day?! All I can say is I was looking forward to it all year long. And it definitely did not disappoint! From a pop-up ceremony, to a killer drag show, Lebanese dancing, and some dramatic night shots, their big day was everything! Plus, some of my favorite videographers The Image in Motion, joined us for the day!
Brandon and Joseph got ready separately and did not see each other until their ceremony. So my assistant Jim and I started separately – he was with him Joseph at their Olde Towne East home, while I was with Brandon at the Renaissance hotel downtown. Just before 5pm, their 200 guests showed up at McFerson Commons Park in the Arena District of dowtown Columbus for their pop-up wedding ceremony! It isn’t possible to reserve this park for anything, but these two knew they wanted to get married under the historic Union Station arch, so they made it happen! They were married by one of Joseph’s brothers as their family and friends gathered around standing.
From there, we did all their portraits – starting with group shots at their ceremony site, and then traveling to the Short North for couples portraits of Brandon and Joseph. In particular they wanted to be sure to visit the site of their first date – Press Grill. It was a busy Saturday in the neighborhood, and a particularly hot day for September, but we made it happen!
Arriving at their reception venue, Franklin Park Conservatory, we did some more couples portraits in the setting sun light, and then it was time to party! The atrium was decked out in dramatic red and gold decor and a variety of food stations served dinner. After the first dance, some traditional Lebanese dancing, cake cutting and toasts, the drag queen Boyonce took to the dance floor for a killer show! The Bluewater Kings Band kept the dance floor rockin’ all night, but Brandon and Joseph took a break for some awesome night shots.
Congratulations to these two!! I had the most amazing time capturing their wedding day and I hope you all feel the love and excitement in these pictures!
These are all SO beautiful! What a happy day!!
