Alexa + Alex: Darby House Summer Wedding

Alexa + Alex’s Darby House wedding earlier this summer was  so sweet and beautiful. And it was great seeing so many familiar faces, since I shot her sister Jaclyn’s wedding almost exactly two years ago!

Their wedding day was all at one location: Darby House, which sits on beautiful grounds just outside Columbus. We were lucky with a beautiful warm summer day to take advantage of all the outdoor beauty! Alexa and Alex opted to do a first look before the ceremony so we had plenty of time to explore the grounds with their wedding party.

Alexa is a librarian and has a passion for books – especially Harry Potter – so bits of this theme were present throughout the details of their day: their guestbook in the form of a children’s picture book, pages from Harry Potter made into paper flowers and incorporated into the bouquets, and more pages cut into hearts strung as the backdrop to their ceremony. It was such a sweet and personal touch!

Following their ceremony on the back terrace, we headed back out for additional portraits in the golden hour light. The evening continued with dinner, toasts, cake cutting, smores and dancing with the In Full Swing  band playing the tunes. Congratulations to Alexa and Alex!!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
