Katey + Ryan: Columbus Ohio Fall Wedding at Camp Mary Orton

Katey + Ryan’s mid-November wedding was a celebration from beginning to end! All their events took place at one location: Camp Mary Orton. This made their day super easy and laid back. Pair their gorgeous fall setting with their unique style (matching hair flowers!) and it was one beautiful day!

Katey and Ryan wanted to get their portraits out of the way before their wedding events kicked off, in order to take advantage of the daylight, and also so they could enjoy their day without worrying about portraits! We staged their first look outside one of the on-site cabins where Katey had gotten dressed. We continued with portraits around the Camp Mary Orton grounds. They didn’t have  a wedding party, so they had plenty of time for just the two of them! It was a bit cold but they toughed through it.

After some family portraits, guests gathered back inside for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour as the sun set. Their ceremony followed inside the barn, against the stone fireplace, and without an officiant! Katey and Ryan walked down the aisle together, spoke to their guests and spoke to each other. It was unlike anything I had seen before, but so simple and I loved it!

Upon their exit, their vegan dinner was served right away, followed by toasts, the first dance and cake cutting. Then the dance floor was open! #midwestlovefest2k16 was perfection in every way, and a total joy to photograph!

Amy Ann Photography

I aim to capture moments and expressions that tell the story of a day, and are authentic to the people involved. If you can look at a collection of images I’ve taken of a total stranger and get a feeling for who they are and what they felt, then I’ve done my job!
