What can I say about Sara + Jared’s end-of-summer wedding day? It was complete happiness from start to end! Even when some unexpected rain surprised us during portraits, Sara and Jared did not let it get in the way of fun! And their carefree attitudes paid off – they had a super fun day, and when the rain cleared, we had even more time for some amazing sunset shots!
We began our day at Sara’s parents’ home in Blacklick. Alison Feamster was on hand perfecting makeup, and I became fast friends with the two adorable family pups. As soon as Sara slipped into her dressed, we headed to Peace Lutheran Church, down the street in Gahanna, for their ceremony. Sara and Jared saw each other for the first time down the aisle, full of smiles!
After some family portraits at church, we jumped into their trolley and headed to German Village for portraits. As we completed a few portraits in Schiller Park, storm clouds appeared and dumped some unexpected rain on us! We ditched the rest of our plans in German Village and headed back to Blacklick, straight to their reception venue – Jefferson Country Club. As soon as we arrived, the rain let up and we did a handful more couples portraits before heading inside to begin their reception!
Following their grand entrance and once they had a chance to eat, I invited the wedding party back outside to finish up the rest of their portraits against the setting sun. We really lucked out with the golden hour light! Plus, one of Sara’s relatives lent us a sweet vintage car for a few shots! I bet Sara and Jared would tell you getting caught in the rain earlier in the day was totally worth it for these sunset portraits.
The evening continued with toasts, cake cutting, and plenty of dancing! The Street Players Band had party rocking all night, and the day was beautifully planned by Marti and Lindsey at All Together Now. Also must mention that gorgeous floral bouquet from Rose Bredl! Their day was amazing and I was so privileged to capture every moment!
