Tina and Matt’s Le Meridien Columbus wedding was an absolute joy to photograph. Between Tina’s eye for fashion and Matt’s appreciation for photography, I knew as soon as we met that we would get along fantastically and I would love capturing their big day! Plus, the setting for their celebration – the new Le Meridien Columbus The Joseph Hotel in the Short North – was unlike any other venue I’ve photographed! With its modern design, art galleries, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking High Street, it gives the feel of being in the middle of Manhattan – but in Columbus of course!
Tina and Matt did not have a formal wedding party. Instead, they had their immediate family on hand to help in preparation, and invited their closest friends – a pretty large group really, larger than any typical wedding party – to join them for pictures prior to the ceremony! I thought this was such a great idea – a totally laid back way to include all their most favorite people, while not subscribing to tradition.
After Tina got dressed, we staged the first look on the second floor of the Joseph, overlooking High Street below. Then we took a short walk through the Short North, stopped by the Pizzuti Collection, and explored Goodale Park for portraits. Back at the Joseph, guests gathered for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour. One of the most important things to Tina and Matt on their wedding day was making sure that their guests had the best time, and it showed.
Their ceremony followed as the sun set, and the celebration continued into the night. The food was as delicious as it was beautiful! And the night could not be complete without a Pistacia Vera dessert bar! Congratulations to Tina + Matt, and thank you for choosing me to capture your most perfect day!
Thank you to: Jessica Love for second shooting for part of the day, and also EcoFlora for the terrariums, A Vision of Elegance for the design and the Wedding Assistant of Columbus for day-of coordination!
And by request, I jumped in a picture!
